The Tree House (far left) from the
Library across the street

Located a hundred feet from the water and near the center of town at 359 Commercial Street, The Tree House offers amazing unobstructed views of the town pier, harbor and bay from five picture windows, and from its new private outdoor deck overlooking the harbor! It's been tripled in size, making the place even more fabulous than before! But it's called The Tree House not just because of its birdseye views, but because of its cherry floors, its pine walls and ceilings, its oak paneling. You'll find country antiques, French doors, stained glass, skylights and plants. Sleeps two.

There's an elegant tub in the bathroom, and a small but well-equipped kitchen. Sorry, no pets allowed.

The bedroom features: a queen-size iron sleighbed with views of the historic Town Library across the street.

Completely renovated in 1998, The Tree House features all new appliances including:

  • washer/dryer,
  • microwave oven
  • coffeemaker
  • toaster
You'll also find a fully equipped kitchen along with:
  • stereo with CD
  • tape player
  • color television
  • cable
  • blender
  • video tape player
  • alarm clock
  • water filter
  • fan
  • vacuum
  • iron
  • answering machine
  • telephone
  • Wi-Fi

You'll even find a few books, games, video tapes and CD's. There is a reserved parking space at The Monument parking lot, about a quarter of a mile away.

from THE LONDON TIMES of 9/21/01 by Ginny Dougary:
My apartment, luckily, could not have been more cozy and appealing. Called The Tree House, it was on the top floor of a three-story building and fashioned entirely out of wood, from the floors to the paneled walls to the ceiling. Ascending the narrow staircase, you would be greeted first by the lovely smell of warm cedar and then the heart-soaring views of the sea from the windows which wrapped around three sides of the living room. There was a deck that I could stand on, even in snowy conditions, and would sit on, soaking up the sun, in later months, and a bedroom at one end with high churchy windows from which one could see the spire of the Heritage Museum directly opposite. It would have been hard to find a more idyllic spot for solitary creativity."

Looking for something a little larger, farther away from the town center but still on the water?
Check out THE BOAT HOUSE

Provincetown is a busy, busy place in summer. Due to the crowds and the difficulties of parking, The Boat House in the quiet East End is probably a better choice for those who like to cook at home, shop at the A & P, and explore the local environs in the car. It's a mile walk to the center of town. The Tree House across from The Heritage Museum is probably a better choice for those who want to eat at restaurants, shop, and enjoy the night-life. The parking space is 1/4 mile away.
